The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the UGC NET June 2025 notification on April 16, 2025.This examination determines the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor’ roles in Indian universities and colleges.
UGC NET June 2025 : Important Dates
- Application Window: April 16 to May 7, 2025 (until 11:59 PM)
- Last Date for Fee Payment: May 8, 2025 (until 11:59 PM)
- Application Correction Window: May 9 to May 10, 2025
- Examination Dates: June 21 to June 30, 2025
UGC NET June 2025 : Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Master’s degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/Third Gender). Final-year postgraduate students are also eligible.
- Age Limit:
- JRF: Maximum 31 years (relaxations applicable as per government norms).
- Assistant Professor: No upper age limit.

EWS/OBC-NCL: ₹600
SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender: ₹325

- Click on the “UGC NET June 2025 Online Application” link.
- Register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
- Fill in the application form with the required details.
- Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature.
- Pay the application fee through the available online payment modes.
- Submit the form and take a printout for future reference.

Exam Pattern
- Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Duration: 3 hours (no break between papers)
- Papers:
- Paper I: 50 questions, 100 marks (teaching and research aptitude)
- Paper II: 100 questions, 200 marks (subject-specific)
- Marking Scheme: +2 for each correct answer; no negative marking.
