Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university 

  • Age Limit:

    • General range: 18–32 years (varies by post/category) 

    • Relaxations for OBC (+3 yrs), SC/ST (+5 yrs), PwBD, Ex‑Servicemen, etc. No Fee

  • Gen / OBC: ₹100

  • Exemptions: SC/ST, PwBD, Women, Ex‑Servicemen – No fee 

  • Payment methods: Online (UPI, net banking, debit/credit) and offline SBI challan

Exam Pattern

Tier I – CBT (1 hour)

  • 100 multiple‑choice questions (25 each):

    • General Intelligence & Reasoning

    • General Awareness

    • Quantitative Aptitude

    • English Comprehension

  • Total Marks: 200 

Tier II – CBT

  • Paper-I (Compulsory): Quantitative, Reasoning, English, GK

  • Paper-II: Statistics (for JSO candidates)

  • Paper-III: Finance & Economics (for AAO/Assistant Audit Officer) 

Tier III

  • Descriptive Paper (Pen & Paper): English/Hindi Essay, Letter/Application writing

Tier IV

  • Skill test (if applicable) and Document Verification

New in 2025

  • Sliding Scheme: SSC may now maintain a waiting list (called “sliding list”) to fill vacancies if primary selectees don’t join 

  • New Posts Added: Office Superintendent (CBDT) and Section Head (DGFT) 

  • Aadhaar-based biometric verification implemented for better security

  • Pay Levels range from ₹25,500 to ₹142,400, depending on the post (Group B or C) All-India vacancies: Posting locations will vary by department and position.
